Guernsey Sports Commission Honors Top Athletes of 2025
Maya Le Tissier and Alex Scott Share Prestigious Award
In an unprecedented move, Maya Le Tissier and Alex Scott have both been awarded the Guernsey Sports Commission’s Outstanding Performer of the Year for 2025. This marks the first time in the award’s 23-year history that it has been jointly given.
Le Tissier, who captains Manchester United, has consistently been part of England’s national team selections. Meanwhile, Scott, a midfielder for Bournemouth, recently earned his debut call-up to the senior national team. Additionally, he contributed to the England Under-21 squad’s victory at the European Championships in June.
Chloe Bown’s Remarkable Achievements in Swimming
Teen sensation Chloe Bown was recognized with the Outstanding Individual Sporting Achievement award for women. At the 2025 Island Games in Orkney, she secured seven gold medals, alongside two silver and two bronze, making her the most decorated athlete of the event.
Bown’s success didn’t stop there, as she also celebrated with her teammates when the women’s swimming team was named Team of the Year.
Seb Priaulx Shines in Motorsport
Racing driver Seb Priaulx was honored with the Outstanding Individual Sporting Achievement award for men. Competing in the IMSA Sports Car Championship in the United States, Priaulx achieved two race victories and stood on the podium four times.
