Dodgers’ Dramatic Victory: A Night to Remember
As the saying goes, “All’s well that ends well,” but Thursday night’s Game 4 felt like a potential loss for the Dodgers. Their bats were silent, and the bullpen seemed vulnerable. Yet, an unexpected bases-loaded walk tied the game, and a crucial throwing error by the Phillies pitcher handed L.A. the win. A loss would have sent them back to Philadelphia, facing cold weather and looming rainstorms. Their season might have ended by Saturday night.
Despite this, I hesitate to call them a “dominating team” and remain cautious about their future. Nevertheless, the 2025 season has been thrilling so far.

Memorable Moments and Historic Echoes
Andy Pages’ broken bat comebacker to the Phillies pitcher resulted in the winning run, propelling the Dodgers further in the playoffs. This moment reminded me of Kirk Gibson’s iconic walk-off home run against the Oakland A’s in the 1988 World Series. Legendary announcers Vin Scully and Jack Buck captured that moment with unforgettable calls. Either of their famous lines would have perfectly described Thursday’s thrilling conclusion at Chavez Ravine.

Reflections on a Bittersweet Ending
As a lifelong Dodgers fan since the 1955 World Series, I am thrilled for their success. However, I wish Game 4 had ended differently. Perhaps with Andy Pages securing a base hit or a mistake by Trea Turner or Bryce Harper. I feel for relief pitcher Orion Kerkering, whose error might haunt him, much like Bill Buckner’s infamous moment with the Red Sox. I hope Orion finds success elsewhere, perhaps with a new team.

Rethinking the Dodgers’ Bullpen
For those doubting the Dodgers’ bullpen, it’s time to reconsider. Roki Sasaki’s performance has been a revelation. The real question is, why did it take so long to recognize their potential?
