New Allegations Against Prince Andrew Under Investigation

Following the recent surrender of his royal titles, Buckingham Palace is set to thoroughly investigate fresh allegations concerning Prince Andrew.

Details of the Allegations

Reports emerged on October 19, indicating that Andrew, now 65, allegedly requested his taxpayer-funded security team to gather information on the late accuser Virginia Giuffre back in 2011. This request reportedly occurred just before a photo surfaced showing Andrew with a then-underage Giuffre. A palace insider informed People on October 20 that these claims are being taken very seriously and will be investigated thoroughly.

Leaked Communications

Allegedly leaked emails suggest that Andrew provided a security team member with Giuffre’s social security number and birth date, aiming to uncover her personal details. Giuffre tragically passed away earlier this year.

The Guardian reported that the officer did not act on this request. (Us Weekly reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.)

Resignation of Titles

On October 17, Andrew announced his decision to relinquish his titles, including the Duke of York and Order of the Garter, as well as his military and royal patronages. This move is linked to his past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which continues to draw public attention.

In a statement to Us Weekly, Andrew expressed that ongoing accusations detract from the royal family’s work. He emphasized his commitment to his family and country, reiterating his decision to step back from public life.

Denial of Accusations

Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing, stating he has no recollection of meeting Giuffre. In a 2019 interview with BBC’s Newsnight, he maintained his innocence.

Background on Epstein and Maxwell

Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 on charges of sex trafficking minors and later died by suicide. Ghislaine Maxwell, his associate, was convicted of child sex trafficking in 2021 and is currently serving her sentence in Texas.

Stepping Back from Duties

In November 2019, Andrew announced his withdrawal from public duties, citing the disruption caused by his association with Epstein. He sought permission from the Queen to step back, which was granted.

Legal Proceedings and Settlement

In 2020, Andrew permanently resigned from all public roles. Two years later, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against him for sexual abuse, which was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.

Giuffre’s Legacy

Virginia Giuffre passed away in April at the age of 41. Her memoir, Nobody’s Girl, is set to be released posthumously, offering more insights into her experiences.
