In just six months, Clemson University is set to unveil Workday, a cutting-edge cloud-based system for managing HR and finance. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the University’s efforts to transform its business operations.
This unified platform will replace numerous existing systems, streamlining processes so faculty, staff, and student workers can focus more on advancing Clemson’s core missions rather than juggling multiple platforms.
The official launch of Workday at Clemson is scheduled for July 1 of this year.
Understanding Workday
Workday is Clemson’s new enterprise resource planning (ERP) tool, designed to handle the University’s human resources and financial operations.
Currently, Clemson relies on PeopleSoft (CUBS) for HR and finance, along with other systems like OnBase-Performance for staff evaluations, Concur for travel reimbursements, and Kronos for timekeeping. Post-July 1, these functions will be consolidated into Workday, providing a centralized hub for faculty and staff. Some systems will still integrate with Workday.
Workday is mobile-friendly and offers self-service features, enabling employees and supervisors to manage tasks efficiently.
The system is designed with the daily experiences of faculty and staff in mind, ensuring it meets the needs of the University community.
Impact on Faculty and Staff
Starting July 1, faculty and staff will transition from systems like PeopleSoft, Kronos, and Tiger Talent to Workday for all HR and finance-related tasks.
A comprehensive list of systems affected by this transition is available on the Workday@Clemson Fast Facts webpage. This list may be updated as final configurations are completed.
